What is a Million Dollar Facial?

 

A luxurious facial where science meets indulgence. Working your skin from the outside in, this treatment has been designed to deeply exfoliate dead skin cells and remove non terminal hair, polish the skin, flush toxins, increase and stimulate our natural collagen and cell turnover. This method will heavily increase the absorption of any active ingredients by 80% as opposed to 8%, this is why we use a Million Dollar mask for maximum results. Is the Million Dollar Facial suitable for me? 

Whilst the Million Dollar Facial is suitable for all skin types (dry, mature, balanced, oily, combination or sensitive) it may not be the correct treatment for you if you experience any of the following;

 

• Under 18 years of age

• Allergy to metal

• Use of Roaccutane within last 12 months

• Cancer/Skin Cancer 12 months post chemotherapy/radiotherapy

• Eczema

• Psoriasis

• Localised skin infections

• Keloidal skin

What is skin needling? 

 

Multiple superficial puncture wounds, releasing growth factors that stimulate the fibroblasts creating new collagen and elastin.

​

 

The aim of the treatment is to traumatise the skin without collateral damage to the epidermis and healthy tissue.

 

 

Micro needling increases the availability of cell nutrients and helps to strengthen the collagen in vessel walls and connective tissue. It increases the density of the epidermis lessening the appearance of broken capillaries.

 

 

The equipment we use is sterile and single use. Certain parts of the treatment require us to wear gloves for health and safety. Our working and preparation areas are clean and all clinical waste is disposed of safely.

Is it painful?

 

There is minimal pain or discomfort during the treatment and recovery is rapid with very little downtime. You may experience some redness, tightness, stinging, tenderness and slight pin point bleeding. These effects typically resolve within hours after the treatment and most people are able to return to their normal activities the same or the following day.

​

 

Recommended treatment plan

 

Although you will see results after just one treatment, for maximum cosmetic results we recommend 4-6 facials at least three to six weeks apart.

​

 

Some skin conditions can take longer to see improvement such as acne scarring and in particular pigmentation which may appear darker initially as the damaged cells are brought to the surface.

​

 

Aftercare 

 

The Million Dollar Facial really is a treatment that requires a commitment from you to invest in your skin and diligently follow the aftercare to minimise the risk of side effects;

 

• Refrain from touching the skin until the pores have had a chance to close. Redness should subside within 24-36hrs

• Use only gentle cleansers recommended by the practitioner

• Pat the skin dry. Do Not Scrub.

• Use a intensive moisturiser for at least a weak as skin may feel tighter or drier after treatment – this is normal

• Avoid facial products containing fragrance for 3-5 days after treatment

• Avoid makeup for 48hrs and ensure all brushes and sponges are clean before application

• Refrain from extreme temperatures for at least 2 weeks post treatment (sunbeds, light therapy, sun exposure, saunas, steam)

• Use Million Dollar Medi Plus Shield 50+ or 5th Avenue SPF50 daily

• Avoid electrolysis, waxing, bleaching, depilatory creams, laser hair removal for at least 72 hrs post

• Avoid swimming for approximately 14 days

• Avoid excessive exercise for 24hrs

• No exfoliation for 7 days after treatment

• No other facial treatments for 2 weeks

• Avoid products such as Retinol/Vit A Retinoids 7 days before/after treatment

• Stay hydrated

  The procedure aims to increase the absorption of skincare/topical products and diminish fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment stimulates collagen synthesis and creates a healthy glow and a radiant complexion. 
  
  Dermaplaning aims to make your skins surface smooth, youthful and radiant. It is also used to remove 'peach fuzz' the short, vellus, non terminal hair from your face. Dermaplaning removes up to 3x more dead skin cells than a microdermabrasion treatment.
