How to look your best when saying 'I do'

It’s one of life’s great milestones for many and we all want to look and feel our best on our wedding day, but where do you start and what should you consider to ensure you feel a million dollars on one of the happiest days of your life?

We have all your beauty needs covered so you can focus on other plans.

It’s never too early to start your wedding preparation when it comes to skincare. As soon as you’ve set a date you should start to improve your routine. The longer you have in advance of the big day the better the results will be. Facials are a great way to prep the skin for flawless makeup on a radiant base. A good Facialist will be able to discuss your concerns and create a treatment plan leading up to the event to achieve the results you want.

On the day itself, its common to have photos taken of the rings. You’ll want to have nice nails for this. Regular manicures will get your nails in top condition or extensions can be a quick fix for nails that need some urgent TLC.

Just like changing jobs or buying a house, planning a wedding can be one of the most stressful things you will ever do. Schedule some time for a massage in the lead up to the day, it can be a great way to unwind and relieve some stress.

On your wedding day, you will want to look your best but you’ll also want the person you’re marrying to recognise you. Hair and makeup trials prior to the event are a perfect opportunity to experiment with looks and styles. TOP TIPS; opt for a waterproof mascara (there’s likely to be some happy tears) and for one day only, skip the SPF on your face (foundation should be SPF free) as this can cause flashback and glare in photos.

So skin looks great, hair and makeup are flawless, muscles are relaxed, nails are on pointe, is there anything else?

How about hair free skin to last you through the honeymoon? Waxed skin will stay smoother for longer. Schedule your wax appointment 48 hours prior to the day to allow the skin to completely calm.

Don’t forget your feet. If you’re opting for open toe shoes you’ll want to make sure your feet are free of unsightly callus and toenails are neat and tidy. French polish is always a classic but blue nails can be a fun way to represent your ‘something blue’.

If you’re still not sure where to start, find a salon that can cater for all your needs. At Bloom we offer bespoke bridal packages so you can focus on the relaxing. Just like a girls night out, the getting ready can be just as much fun as the event itself. Whatever you choose, remember your spouse loves you exactly as you are. We’re just here to help you feel the best version of you on your special day.
